A message from the Head Bean – Sean Edwards
Like a jigsaw puzzle all the pieces eventually fall into place. This is how it’s been revamping our Golden Bean North America competition after being forced by COVID to shut down over the past two years.
We have had huge interest and support from the Roasters community and lots of entries are flowing in for the Columbus Ohio event on the 16th of August. We are hoping to get 100 coffee professionals along to help judge the estimated 1000 coffees from around North America and find out who the winners are this year.
The overall winner of Golden Bean will win a trip to Kona, Hawaii, to compete in the “World Series” – our new global coffee competition in late November. This competition is also open to competitors who have won in the past as Overall Champion as well as gold and silver medal winners.
We have setup a dedicated web page on the Golden Bean website for the World Series to explain the event in detail.
We are very excited about hosting the Green Bean zone at this year’s Golden Bean and we have kept Saturday the August 20th free to host our attending green bean companies who will be showcasing innovative products to our Roasters.
There will be a chance to taste new season coffees from companies like Gold Mountain, Mercanta Coffee, Savage Coffee, OPTOC, DESCAMEX, Keffa Coffee and more to come to this growing list.
All the Green Bean companies will also have a chance to promote their unique selling points during the competition over the lunch breaks with 10 minute presentations. Its exciting to witness the interaction between Roaster and Green Bean suppliers and watching the business happen and relationships form.

We still have great deals for Roasters to attend the Golden Bean with a VIP ticket valued at $550 for six entries. We are also encouraging Roasters from the Midwest to join us as part of our Golden Bean competition we will be sharing the event around the Nation.
The Golden Bean team will be doing a Midwest Road trip visiting Roasters in early August so warm up the brew - it will be very likely you may see us.
