The Journey to Denver Begins!

The Journey to Denver Begins!

Hi Roasters

I hope you're all enjoying a great summer and that coffee sales are going well.

Preparations for Golden Bean – The Americas are well underway. Our entry portal and competition guidelines are now live, so it's time to start preparing your coffees and letting us know you'll be joining us. This helps us organize all the exciting events that take place throughout the competition.

Remember, enter six coffees and receive a complimentary delegate ticket valued at $550.

Venue & Accommodation

We're pleased to announce that this year's event will be held at the ART Hotel Denver, Curio Collection by Hilton, located in a safe and vibrant part of downtown Denver.

We've secured 30 rooms for visiting roasters attending the competition and conference. When making your reservation, be sure to mention Golden Bean to receive the special event rate.

New Judging Category

We're excited to introduce several updates to our judging format this year, including a brand-new category for Experimental Processed Coffees (Category 15).

This category has been created to recognise innovation in coffee processing and encourage new trends within the industry. As a result, experimental processed coffees will no longer be eligible for the Filter Category (Category 3).

Following discussions with our Head Judges, we've agreed that the Filter category should focus on traditionally processed coffees, allowing judges to better recognize roasting skill within that style.

Please refer to the competition guidelines for full details.

Roastronix Cup

We're also exploring the return of the Roastronix Cup in Denver. We're currently working with a local roaster on the event logistics and will share entry details soon.

The competition will feature live roasting on a Stronghold roaster during the event.

Single-Serve Category

We're delighted to welcome I Fill as a Gold Sponsor for this year's event.

The popular Single-Serve Category will return. Simply roast your coffee specifically for a single-use K-Cup, and the team at I Fill will handle the grinding, packing, and brewing for our judging panel.

Calling All Competitor Judges

We're expecting approximately 1,000 coffee entries this year, and we'll need plenty of roasters to help with judging.

Judging so many outstanding coffees over three days is a huge undertaking. Golden Bean has always been about bringing roasters together—not only as competitors but also as judges. Because all coffees are judged blind, every competitor has the opportunity to take part in evaluating some of the world's best coffees in a fair and impartial environment.

Throughout the event we'll also host a range of sponsored evening functions, providing fantastic opportunities to network, catch up with industry friends, and make new connections.

Stay tuned for our weekly event updates as we count down to Denver.

Happy roasting,

Sean Edwards
